Team: Team fundraising for The Max Windle Memorial Trust

In memory of Max Windle

Great North Swim 2026 · 12 June 2026 ·

This Trust has been set up in memory of Max Windle who sadly passed away in January 2021 at the age of 16. The trust will support both local and national charities which focus on improving mental health, including depression, anxiety and suicide prevention, in children and young adults.

Story

On 14th June, I will be swimming 5km in Lake Windermere as part of the Great North Swim to raise money for MWMT, a charity dedicated to supporting young people’s mental health.

I am taking on this challenge in memory of my friend Kate’s brother, Max, who tragically took his own life at the age of 16 after struggling with his mental health.

Max’s story has touched so many people, and this cause is one that means a great deal to everyone taking part. Alongside a team of 30 swimmers, I will be challenging myself in the cold waters of Lake Windermere to help raise awareness and support for young people’s mental health.

MWMT carries out vital work supporting young people and their families, and every donation helps them continue making a difference.

I would be incredibly grateful for any support you can give. Every donation, no matter the size, will help support this important cause and will mean so much to all of us swimming in Max’s memory.

Thank you so much for your generosity and support.

With love,

Millie xx
