Story
This year the Mills & Reeve Charity Challenge Committee will be whisking daring Challenge goers to the idyllic moorland village of Haworth, the home of the Brontës.
With a range of challenges in store for us, we will see each other hike, abseil, gorge-walk and cave in support of this year's very worthy charity, the Hygiene Bank.
The Hygiene Bank is a grassroots charitable organisation, inspired by the plea of Ken Loach in his powerful film ‘I, Daniel Blake’, whose mission is to alleviate hygiene poverty in the UK.
One particular scene in the film which reflects the current realities of poverty in the UK, is of Katie, a single mother who is caught shoplifting a pack of period pads, razors and a bottle of deodorant. With the cost-of-living crisis worsening, basic access to hygiene in the UK is deteriorating further as these products have become even less affordable.
Everyone deserves to have access to basic hygiene and the Hygiene Bank’s vision is to make that a reality. They generate donations through physical product collections and fundraising – hygiene products are then distributed nationwide through local community partners including schools, social services, charities and projects working to support children, families and individuals in need.
We will also be running various fundraising activities in each office from Monday 5 June!
Thank you for your generous donations!
