Story

Springtime means only one thing for a number of employees from local law firm Mills Selig, the opportunity to lace up those muddy trainers and rack up some training miles ahead of Spring Marathon season.

Once again members of the team will be tackling both the London and Belfast marathons in the coming weeks in aid of their chosen charity, Dementia NI.

First up, Communications and Marketing executive John Quinn will join an expected 50,000 runners from around the world to take on London Marathon on Sunday 21 April - having completed the 2023 edition, John couldn’t wait to get back having had such a fantastic experience taking part in the iconic event. Then, a couple of weeks later on Sunday 5 May, not only will the Mills Selig Marathon relay team be gearing up for local glory as they test themselves at Belfast Marathon but Andrew McConnell, a second year Trainee with the firm has opted to take on the full marathon distance for the first time.

“The team at Mills Selig are always up for a challenge and the opportunity to support and create awareness about the incredible work of Dementia NI makes it all worthwhile - thank you to everyone able to donate to this hugely deserving cause.” Maeve Fisher, Partner within Mills Selig’s Litigation team and Head of the firm’s Charity Committee

Dementia NI is a local charity supporting people living with dementia. People with dementia taking action, having their voices heard and improving the lives of everyone who has dementia.

The lives of people are dramatically changed by a dementia diagnosis. Dementia NI’s vision is to ensure everyone living with dementia in NI will receive an accurate and timely diagnosis, have access to appropriate services and will live well with the right support. Supporting Dementia NI means the charity can continue to raise awareness, educate, train and challenge the stigma of dementia.
