Story
Join me as I dare to journey, going the same distance a refugee would have to travel to escape the conflict. At least 89.3 million people worldwide have been forced to flee their homes. Through this challenge, I will be raising money for those whose long walk has not been a fun activity but a necessity to escape economic, political and environmental crises.
Between 16th-24th of February, we will walk/run the distance of the route taken by refugees fleeling from Juba to its border with Ethiopia- 392km/245mi. This journey was made by at least 386,750 people in 2021.
I would really appreciate your prayerful support and any financial contribution you can afford to give- even the smallest donation can make a big difference!
For example, £12 could provide a family in Iraq with a vital hygiene kit including soap, antiseptic, toothpaste, sanitary towels, shampoo and washing powder.
Or, in Lebanon, £37 could provide vital emotional support from a clinical psychologist to a person traumatised by their experiences of conflict.
Not only will this journey fundraise for Tearfund's global work, but the team will be taking part in dares that you can challenge us to complete when you donate to the fundraiser. Find a list of dares at http://wearetearfund.org/dare
During the February half term, the 17th to 24th, I will be running 20km every day to contribute to the groups total!
