Milly's London Marathon 2025

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
Although I am very fortunate enough to have got a ballot place (yes I'm still in shock!), I have chosen to run the London Marathon in memory of my sister Lydia, who at the small age of 3.5 years, had a cardiac arrest due to an undiagnosed heart condition.
2025 marks the 30th year anniversary of her passing.
Coinciding also with Cardiac Risk in the Young's 30th year of formation, and my 30th year around the sun!
Since its formation in 1995, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) has been working to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). CRY supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by YSCD.
Join CRY in their mission to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths by promoting awareness, conducting screenings, and supporting affected families
Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. CRY promotes and develops heart screening programmes and funds medical research. CRY publishes and distributes medical information written by leading cardiologists for the general public. CRY funds specialist referral, screening and cardiac pathology services at leading UK hospitals.
