Given the acute humanitarian crisis created by the Russian invasion in 2022, I am raising money to buy 1/2 a (used) ambulance and emergency medical supplies to be delivered to Ukraine this March. Another driver will do the same.

In 1987, while studying in Kyiv, I left a piece of my heart behind - I called him Zooby as he was a student dentist - and I have watched horrified as a country and people I came to know well has suffered so appallingly at the hands of Putin’s Russia and Trump’s failure to help. Like most of us I have felt utterly powerless so I jumped at the chance to do this one small thing to help. If the equipment we deliver can save one life or limb it will be worth it. So anything you can give to support my fundraising will be hugely appreciated by me but more importantly by the brave people in Ukraine. We make it clear to all that the donors are the key. They do not know you but they will thank you.

I very much appreciate any and all the support you can give. I will fund travel expenses into and out of Ukraine (about four nights in hotels, food and beverage and the train and flight back to London), in total somewhat over £1000.

Medical Life Lines Ukraine was set up in 2022 by volunteers just after the Russian invasion. All the money raised goes to support Ukraine. They have delivered 113 ambulances to war-torn areas of Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion on 24th February 2022. Russia continues to target civilian infrastructure including apartments, hospitals, and electricity generation. The demand for humanitarian aid, civil defence support and medical supplies is unrelenting.
