Story
On September 6th, I’ll be running the Edinburgh trail marathon, and on September 14th, I’ll be taking part in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk—all to raise funds for Lymphoma Action, a charity that supports people affected by lymphoma, the most common type of blood cancer.
This cause is deeply personal to me. My auntie is currently fighting lymphoma for the third time, after already beating cancer twice. Her story is nothing short of a miracle—she's survived a 1% prognosis, multiple surgeries, and life-threatening complications, all with unshakable strength and positivity. She's the kind of person who, even in her weakest moments, finds a way to lift everyone else up.
I’m also doing this for a 39-year-old family friend who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma (AITCL)—a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Despite the odds, her courage, spirit, and will to fight are truly inspiring.
I’ve seen firsthand how cancer affects not just the individual but entire families. I want to raise money to support those who are still fighting, and to help Lymphoma Action continue their vital work providing information, emotional support, and hope to those affected.
Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting a cause that means so much to me.
