Miranda's fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support

Northampton Lift Tower Abseil · 16 September 2023
So as I have plenty of time on my hands I wondered what I could do next…..
As a child growing up life seems simple easy and you are having just the best time. For me things were a little different, when I was 11 my mum who was only 41 was diagnosed with bowel cancer.
As an only child and it being just me and mum this meant my world would never look the same again. For 4 years I watched my mum slowly loose her batter aged 45 against the crappy disease and I said goodbye to her for the last time aged 15.
Fast forward 20 years and there’s me 35 with 2 small children being diagnosed with mouth cancer. It was truly devastating.
Now clearly the story for me was more successful than for my mum but the common theme we did have was MacMillan cancer support.
I’d had experience with them helping mum and I cope, and there they were to help me and my family.
So being in partnership now with a company who’s chosen charity is MacMillan couldn’t be more inspiring.
So why not climb down the side of a 418ft lift tower. You know like you do….
Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
