Story
To mark the first anniversary of Lisa Moore’s passing (26/3/25), we’re raising funds for OvaCare, a charity that Lisa found particularly helpful during her illness.
Lisa was active — an aerialist, rugby-player, yogi, an all-round force of energy and light — and so, to honour her vitality, we will be celebrating her at a few different events:
On Saturday 21st March, Sligo Rugby Club will host their Mnásome Lunch, a celebration of women in the club. There will be an opportunity to donate to OvaCare at the lunch and at the AIL men’s match on the day - Lisa having been the first female AIL touch judge from the club.
On Saturday 28th March 10:00-11:30, Kindred Studios are hosting a yoga class, with all donations going to OvaCare – just donate through this page, and then book your spot here: https://momence.com/l/WQh2Wkk4
On Sunday 29th March 11:00-12:30, Acro Aer are hosting an Aerial Taster workshop, with all donations going to OvaCare – just donate through this page, and then book your spot here: https://legitfit.com/p/event/69826ba22b7f24b0e4fc1f66
Also on Sunday 29th March, I’m going to brave the wilds of Leitrim and Sligo and walk all 34.5km of the Sligo Camino for the pure fun of it, with Lisa’s spirit buoying me along. (Note: the date for this has now changed to Sunday 19th April, due to still recovering from a mild injury).
Lisa would be heartened by us raising awareness of Ovarian Cancer, because early detection can lengthen and save lives. Common symptoms include:
• Bloating that is persistent and doesn’t come and go.
• Feeling full quickly when eating, even after a small amount of food.
• Abdominal and pelvic pain.
• Changes in menstruation, urination, or bowel habits.
Other less common but possible symptoms include fatigue, back pain, and unexplained weight loss or gain. For more information, go to: https://ovacare.ie/ovarian-cancer/symptoms/
We’re so lucky to have had Lisa on this earth for almost forty years, and the effects of her love and care live on even now, after her passing. Thank you, Lisa, we love you. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
