Story
For reasons that are still being questioned by friends, family and several medical professionals, nine members of the Mitchell Group have decided to spend Saturday 27th June cycling 106 miles around the coast of Anglesey.
As if the distance itself wasn't enough, the route also includes over 6,500 feet of climbing. Apparently, spending eight to ten hours voluntarily making life more difficult for ourselves seemed like a sensible way to raise money. Fortunately, it's all in aid of The Joshua Tree, which makes the inevitable suffering feel considerably more worthwhile.
The Joshua Tree is a Cheshire-based children's cancer charity that supports families across the North West and North Wales. Dedicated to helping those affected by childhood cancers, the charity provides tailored emotional, academic and practical support to meet each family's individual needs.
Their services include counselling, art and play therapy, health and wellbeing guidance, support in and around the home and educational tutoring where needed. Their mission is simple but powerful: to help ensure life remains as normal as possible for children and their families during one of the most challenging periods they may ever face.
Any support, no matter the size, will make a genuine difference and help The Joshua Tree continue its outstanding work.
