Mitie at Cumberland Infirmary is raising money for Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland

We provide high quality care and support for adults who have palliative and end of life care needs, whilst also supporting their families/carers. The aim is to provide care and support which will improve their quality of life and facilitate a peaceful and dignified death within the patients home.

Story

In celebration of this mission, Nine Mitie team members from the Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle are beginning the 5 day Hadrian's Wall Walk Challenge on 29th September 2025. This challenge is not just a test of endurance; it is an opportunity to advocate for those who rely on the Hospice at Home Services.

We kindly ask for your support in this endeavour. Your contributions will directly impact the lives of many, ensuring that compassionate care continues to be accessible for all who need it.

Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland, are dedicated to providing free care and support to patients and families in the comfort of their own homes. The individualized approach ensures that they enhance the quality of life for those facing end-of-life challenges, allowing them to experience a peaceful and dignified passing surrounded by loved ones. Hospice at Home also extend there support to those who are bereaved, helping them navigate through their grief.

Despite receiving some funding from the NHS, the Hospice at Home charity face the ongoing challenge of raising over 85% of their running costs. This is crucial to ensure that the vital services remain available at no charge to patients and their families when they need it most.
