At the Mitre we have a long standing commitment to helping others. This year, on 7th March, we're taking part in the YMCA Derbyshire Sleep Easy 2025 to raise funds and awareness for people at risk of homelessness, social isolation and poverty.

The Mitre L6th will be braving a cold and hopefully not too wet night under DIY cardboard shelters. Sadly, many young people the same age as us have no choice but to sleep like this every night so this will give us a glimpse into the hard reality they must face every night.

Homelessness is a harsh reality for far too many people in Derby and Derbyshire. YMCA Derbyshire and Padley@YMCA Derbyshire provide essential services, including safe accommodation, life skills programs, and emotional support, to help these young people rebuild their lives and move towards a brighter future.

By supporting us you will be helping to provide safe accommodation for those who find themselves homeless, opportunities for young people to engage in positive activities and work experience and volunteering. These are much-needed services, all provided to improve their lives and support those in our community who are most in need.
