Story
We are excited to announce that the team at M&K Solicitors will be taking on a charity walk up Mount Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales, to raise vital funds for FOBE – Friends of Bright Eyes, a Luton‑based registered charity that provides life‑changing support for children and adults with disabilities.
About FOBE (Friends of Bright Eyes)
FOBE is a registered UK charity (Charity No. 1091012) dedicated to delivering support services, short‑break activities, and social/play opportunities for children and adults with a wide range of disabilities. Their mission is to improve quality of life, boost confidence, and reduce the effects of social isolation for both young people and their families.
FOBE offers:
Weekly Activity Clubs and Holiday Schemes that give children with disabilities the chance to enjoy fun, inclusive, and stimulating activities they may otherwise not be able to access.
Trips and Outings designed to provide exciting experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Family Support and Short Breaks, allowing parents and carers crucial time to rest, recharge, and prevent the stress and strain that can come with full‑time care responsibilities.
Accessible Transport and Multicultural Support Teams, ensuring families from all backgrounds feel heard, respected, and catered for.
FOBE’s story began with a mother who struggled to find meaningful support for her disabled child and took it upon herself to create a safe, fun space for children like hers. This small beginning has grown into a vital service supporting countless families across Luton.
As of the most recent charity records, FOBE continues to deliver a wide range of services through afterschool clubs, holiday schemes, volunteer initiatives, and awareness campaigns, powered by trustees and a strong base of volunteers.
Why We’re Walking for FOBE:
Families with disabled children often face immense emotional, financial, and practical challenges. Research shows that parents of disabled children experience significantly higher levels of stress, and many families are pushed to breaking point without adequate support. FOBE directly tackles these challenges by offering respite, community, and opportunities for children to thrive.
By walking up Mount Snowdon, we aim to raise both awareness and essential funds to help FOBE continue delivering these crucial services. Every donation—big or small—will help FOBE reach more families, arrange more activities, and offer more support to those who need it.
