Story
As full time working parents of 2 active children, we wondered how we could make life more difficult, so decided to train for a marathon each:
Paul - Rome - 22nd March
Lizzy - London - 26th April
Training has certainly been hard and required lots of adjustments to daily life but it is nothing compared to daily adjustments needed for the 6,000 people living with MND in the UK.
MND is a progressive disease that leads to worsening muscle weakness, stiffness, and loss of movement, affecting walking, speaking, swallowing, and eventually breathing.
MND has no cure, and for most variants there is no way to slow its progression. It simply takes, relentlessly.
Running, raising awareness of MND, and fundraising for a brighter future for the disease is a great coping mechanism for us and spreads peace, positivity and pride across our family at a difficult time for us as we see the impacts first hand to Lizzy’s sister & Auntie and Godmother to our children, Zoe. Her strength and fight is remarkable and inspiring to us all!
Thank you for reading, supporting, sharing, and donating — it truly means more than we can put into words.
