Story
Hi, my name is Adi. I’m 12 years old, and I play the oboe.
Recently, I had the chance to learn about the incredible work being done by MND SMART, and it truly inspired me. Seeing patients with MND made me realise how brutal the disease is.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a devastating illness that affects the neurons in the body. It slowly takes away a person’s ability to walk, talk, eat, and even breathe. It destroys my heart to think about how it impacts not only those diagnosed, but also everyone who loves them and is important to them. Right now, there is no cure for this awful disease. That’s why the research being done is so important—it gives people hope to find a cure.
I kept thinking that I should do something to help but I had no idea how to do it until I thought of busking. I may be young, but I do have something special I can share—music. I play the oboe and piano. I love both instruments so much. I love the whole of music so much. So I decided to use that joy to try and help others.
I’m going to be busking in Edinburgh to raise money for MND research—using my music love and passion to make a difference. Every note I play is for the people affected by MND, and for the hope that one day, there will be a cure.
If you stop to listen, you’re already supporting me more than you know. If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it will go towards vital research that could change lives. And even just sharing this message can help spread awareness and bring us one step closer to finding a cure.
If you hear me playing, please come and say hello—it would mean the whole world to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for supporting such an important cause. Together, we can turn music into hope ♥️
