Story
Thanks for visiting this JustGiving page supporting the MND Association.
Every year I set out to challenge myself and put myself into an uncomfortable position and speaking with my friend Dylan who is also doing the challenge, he spoke to me about how his uncle Kevin Baetul suffers with Motor Neurone disease and needs 24/7 support. I know he doesn't mind me saying how hard it is to live with this condition and also how emotionally challenging it has been for kevin and his family. Knowing this I thought what a great cause to raise money and awareness for a charity so close to home. That's why me and a close group of friends are setting out to hike the 3 tallest peaks in the UK BACKWARDS in under 24 HOURS!!! We will be starting at Snowdon, moving on to Scartell pike and finishing the challenge at Ben Nevis the tallest peak of them all.
For the people that don’t know what MND is, Motor neurone disease (MND), also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, is a progressive neurological condition that affects the motor neurones—nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement. As these nerves deteriorate, signals can no longer reach the muscles, leading to increasing weakness, muscle wasting, and loss of movement. Over time, it can impact the ability to walk, speak, swallow, and eventually breathe. The condition is life-limiting, with symptoms gradually worsening over time.
Donate on here and your money will change the lives of people affected by motor neurone disease in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
JustGiving will send your donation directly to the MND Association.
Every penny you donate goes towards research that could potentially change someone’s life.
