Run and Cold Water Dip

The MND Association focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. If you or a loved one need practical or emotional support, call our Connect Helpline on 0808 802 6262, Mon to Fri between 9am and 4pm.

Story

Club legend Tom Davies (more commonly known as TD during his time at the club) was tragically diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) earlier this year. TD played for Sheffield Medics Rugby Club between 2013 and 2021 (our longest-serving member) and was first team captain during this time. He is well known for his positivity, dedication to the club and being a friendly face to all.

The club is determined to unite together to raise money and awareness for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND Association), a charity that will be supporting TD throughout. The MND Association funds research, improves access to care and campaigns for those affected by MND. They provide vital help for people living with MND, their families and carers.

On 21st-22nd November, the club will be embarking on a 24-hour sponsored run. The challenge will involve clubmen taking shifts running through the night, aiming to run 100 miles (160 km). This will culminate in a mass cold water dip in Crookes Valley Park at 4 pm on Friday 22nd November!

If you would like to take part in the run, anyone is welcome to join, just add your name to this document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12kqMyNoxMjXSMUdjCeia7IxMOxgWh918SxLcVVnxayg/edit?tab=t.0
