24 Hour Kart Race · 9 August 2025

Wirral Hospice St John's provides specialist palliative care for the Wirral. It costs up to £7m a year to run the Hospice, which is at no charge to our patients. This is all thanks to the loyal support and commitment of our supporters who do so much to help raise funds for our charity's work.

Story

In loving memory of a teammate’s beloved mother, and in honour of the compassion shown by Wirral Hospice St John’s.

On August 9th–10th, a dedicated team from Modus Motorsport will be taking on an extraordinary challenge, a 24-hour endurance kart race at Teesside Autodrome to raise vital funds for St John’s Hospice.

This race isn’t just about speed. It’s about coming together as a team, to support a teammate who has suffered a devastating and unexpected loss.

In the hardest moments of life when families are forced to say goodbye far too soon, Wirral Hospice St John’s is there. They offer dignity, comfort, and compassion during the most vulnerable times. They create moments of peace in the chaos of loss, not just for those at the end of their lives, but for their families who carry the grief long after.

The care and support provided to our teammate’s mother in her final days left a deep impact on all of us. It showed us what real love, real care, and real humanity looks like.

Now, we want to give something back. For 24 non-stop hours, our team will battle fatigue, darkness, and pressure to complete the ultimate test of endurance, all to raise money and awareness for the hospice that supported our friend and their family during a time of unimaginable pain. This is more than a race, its solidarity and what true teamwork looks like.

Every lap we complete is for the people who can’t be here to watch us finish it.
