Story
My name is Mohammed Abdul-Jawad Salman Al-Duraimli. I am a father of a family of eight from Gaza, and before the war, I worked as an aluminum worker to earn a living and provide for my family. I worked hard every day just to meet our basic needs.
When the war began, everything changed. I lost my work and became unable to provide for my family. I tried to find work in aluminum, but there was no longer enough work available. The simple tools I depended on for my profession were also lost during the war.
I turned to my sisters and humanitarian organizations for help, and they supported us as much as they could. I also tried to start again by opening a small stand so I could earn something for my family. But even that small attempt was destroyed when the stand was damaged.
We have also been forced to endure repeated displacement—from Gaza to the south, and then from the south back toward the north. The constant movement has exhausted us physically and emotionally.
Our home was bombed, and today my family of eight and I are living in a worn-out tent. Life in these conditions is extremely difficult, especially as we enter the beginning of a new school year. I cannot afford to buy school supplies or bags for my children, and it is painful for me as a father to see them go without the basic things they need for their education.
I am not asking for help so that I can remain dependent on others. My greatest hope is to receive enough support to start a small business that can provide a daily income for my family. I want to work, support my children, rebuild our lives, and one day be able to give back to those who stood beside us.
Any support, no matter how small, would mean so much to my family. Your kindness can help us move from simply surviving each day toward having a chance to rebuild our future.
Thank you sincerely to everyone who takes the time to read our story, support us, or share our campaign. May your kindness return to you many times over.
