Story
12 weeks ago, I struggled to run for 3 minutes at a time without needing to stop.
Now, somehow, I’m running 10k for fun (well… mostly 😅), and I’ve signed up to take on the Lincoln Half Marathon!
I won’t pretend it’s been easy! Running does not come naturally to me, and every training run takes determination, self-discipline, and a fair bit of stubbornness. But 12 weeks ago, I never imagined I’d get this far, so I’m trusting the process, following the training plan, and pushing myself to reach that 13 mile finish line.
I’m taking on this challenge to raise money for St Barnabas Hospice, an organisation that means a huge amount to me, not only because of the incredible care they provide across Lincolnshire, but because I’m fortunate enough to see that impact through my work too.
Every day, St Barnabas supports patients living with life-limiting and terminal illness, helping people live as well as possible for as long as possible, while also supporting the people who love them. The care they provide is extraordinary, compassionate, and makes a genuine difference during some of life’s hardest moments.
Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much — both to me as I attempt something that feels way outside my comfort zone, and to the patients and families who rely on St Barnabas.
To put that into perspective, every £22 raised could fund one hour of specialist hospice care at home for someone who needs it.
Thank you so much for your support 💚
