Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In September I’ll be taking part in the end to end, where you walk 39.22 miles in 10 hours and 30 minutes. Starting from the point of ayre, and finishing at the sound. I would love to raise money for charity doing this and something that’s very close to me, I have chose The Manx Death Society.
This is not something everyone knows about me. But since I was young, I’ve struggled with ongoing ear problems and have had to wear Hearing aids. I’ve had to attend numerous hospital appointments, undergo surgery to have grommets fitted, and live with constant tinnitus. These issues have had a massive impact on my life, both physically and mentally.
Early last year, after ongoing pain and leaking from my right ear, for months. I went for a CT scan to find out what was going on. Resulting in me needing surgery and a biopsy take. Thankfully, during this everything came back clear, but the symptoms never really went away. To this day, I still deal with pain and discomfort, and I’ve now lost almost all hearing in my right ear and still struggle to hear out of my left ear.
This experience has made me realise how underrepresented and often overlooked hearing issues can be. Hearing loss, tinnitus, and ear conditions affect so many people, yet they’re rarely talked about—and the support can sometimes feel out of reach.
That’s why I’ve decided to raise money for the Manx Deaf Society. They do amazing work here on the Isle of Man, supporting people who are deaf or hard of hearing, and offering vital services and resources to those who need it most.
I want to help them continue this work. Whether you can donate a little or a lot, every bit of support means the world. Thank you so much 🥰
