We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

We lose too many people to mental illness. Friends and family; people we admire in the media; but also so much of our own time. Memories eaten up and dominated by conditions that ebb and flow and sometimes drown. Conditions that can be debilitating and alienating, and so often go untreated. With the right support, change is possible. It should never be accepted as the way someone just has to live, until eventually it’s too late to show them another version of life. Unfortunately in a time where more and more people need support, there is far too little support available. Access to free therapy is far and few between, with long waitlists often putting people off, and the right course of treatment needing more than a single online form to recognise. I’m lucky enough to have had support when I’ve needed it. I am not the majority. For some, therapy is a non-negotiable, but it can be something wildly unaffordable and inaccessible for many. This is why charities like Calm are so important. Any solutions that bring people feeling closer to help and safety are worth just that small donation. Help shouldn’t be a luxury!! Don’t put a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

£12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.
