Royal Parks Half Marathon in aid of The Sick Children's Trust

Molly Lowe is raising money for The Sick Children's Trust

Oysho Royal Parks Half Marathon 2026 · 11 October 2026 ·

#TeamSCT are taking on the 13.1 miles through four of London’s beautiful Royal Parks; Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St James’s Park & The Green Park to help keep families together at a time when they need to be most.

Story

I’m raising money for The Sick Children’s Trust — a charity that provides a true home from home for families when their child is in hospital.

When our son Timmy was seriously ill, The Sick Children’s Trust gave us a place to stay just three minutes from the hospital. Because of them, we were able to wake up close to him, return quickly when we needed to, and be together as a family during the most frightening time of our lives. When your child is sick, nothing matters more than being near them — and this charity made that possible for us.

Those days with Timmy were filled with uncertainty, fear, and love in equal measure. Having somewhere safe, warm and supportive to stay took away one huge worry at a time when everything else felt unbearable. The staff didn’t just give us a roof over our heads — they gave us kindness, understanding, and a sense that we weren’t alone.

Sadly, Timmy passed away. But the time we were able to spend close to him, because of this charity, is something we will always be grateful for. It meant we could be by his side, every step of the way.

I’m running a half marathon in Timmy’s memory and in support of The Sick Children’s Trust, so that other families facing the unthinkable can stay close to their children when they need it most. No family should have to worry about where they will sleep while their child is fighting for their life.

Thank you for helping me honour Timmy, and for supporting a charity that truly changes lives when it matters most 💛
