Story

In April, Asher and I will be running the 2026 London Marathon as part of #TeamBowelCancerUK in memory of his wonderful brother Josh 💙

We lost Josh to bowel cancer in January 2025, at 40 years old, just 11 weeks after his diagnosis. Josh had lived with IBS his entire life and, like so many others, was used to pushing through pain in silence.

Josh was larger than life and lived every moment to the fullest. He saw the best in everyone and in every situation. Even during his illness, he showed unbelievable strength - lifting the spirits of those around him and continuing to be a presence until the very end.

Whilst the idea of running a marathon is daunting, it's nothing compared to what Josh endured. If he could face his illness with a smile everyday, we can face 26.2 miles. We have so many beautiful memories of exploring London with Josh and his son Alfie and now we'll run through the same streets in his honour.

Why Bowel Cancer UK?

Sadly, cases like Josh's are becoming more common. Bowel cancer in younger adults is on the rise, and too often it's detected too late. We are passionate about preventing further devastating losses like this and that's why we're supporting Bowel Cancer UK.

They support and fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.

How your donation could help make a difference:

• £10 could deliver an awareness talk

• £25 could provide an hour’s expert nurse support on our Ask the Nurse

service

• £50 could help support policy work to improve bowel screening

By donating today, you'll be honouring Josh's memory - and helping Bowel Cancer UK work towards a future where nobody dies of bowel cancer, regardless of age.

Thank you so much for your support 💙💙💙
