Story
On the 15th February 2019, we lost our beautiful Leah to suicide, a loss that changed our family forever. Alongside her, we remember the many other wonderful people whose lives have also been lost too soon. Suicide doesn’t just take one life; it leaves a lasting impact on families, friends and entire communities.
In 2024 alone, there were 7,147 registered suicide deaths in the UK, with an age-standardised rate of 11.4 per 100,000. Behind every number is a name, a face, a family and a story. These statistics are heartbreaking and they remind us why support, awareness and prevention are so incredibly important.
That’s why this June, myself and Domi will be taking on a skydive to raise funds for Grassroots Suicide Prevention.
Grassroots Suicide Prevention works tirelessly to save lives through training, education and community support. They empower people to recognise the signs of suicide, start vital conversations, and help those who are struggling to find hope and support. Their work truly makes a difference, but charities like this can only continue with the help of donations and community backing.
We are doing this in loving memory of our auntie, and in honour of everyone who has lost their life to suicide. We want to help create a future where fewer families have to experience this pain.
Any donation, big or small, will go directly towards supporting life-saving training and mental health initiatives. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you for supporting us, for remembering those we’ve lost, and for helping to make a difference.
