Story
In January, my aunty Máire heartbreakingly lost her battle to sarcoma.
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat.
Throughout the two years from diagnosis right up until her passing, Máire was strong, courageous and inspirational. Her suffering was continuous but she always came out smiling and determined to enjoy her life. She had so much love for her son, husband, family and friends.
Máire was an English teacher with a passion for literature and the arts, and loved walking the wild moors where the Brontë sisters were inspired.
Losing her has been extremely hard for everyone who was close to her and loved her.
To honour her memory and everything she went through I will be walking up Yr Wyddfa or Mount Snowdon (for those who don’t speak Welsh 🏴) to raise money for Sarcoma UK. I know it was one of her wishes for others not to suffer like she did, so raising as much money as possible for this brutal and heavily under researched type of cancer is extremely important to me.
Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep their Support Line open and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and supporting me, it means the world! xx
