Story

In April 2027 I'll be running the London marathon - 26.2 miles through the capital for the CF trust.

I'll be taking on the biggest challenge I've ever undertaken, standing at the start line as not just a runner, but a runner with cystic fibrosis.

Growing up with cystic fibrosis - even the idea of running a marathon at the age of 30 would have sounded pretty impossible, and the thought of  being healthy and thriving at age 30 was very doubtful. However, due to advancements in treatments thanks to the CF's ongoing research and fundraising, a new drug called Kaftrio has helped so many children / adults with CF (including myself), and I'm super lucky that in my 30th year I'm here, I'm healthy and I'm about the run the London marathon!!!!!

Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic condition which affects the lungs and digestive system. Symptoms include poor lung function, persistent lung infections and the inability to effectively digest food, particularly fats. There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis, but thanks to the work the CF trust have carried out since since they established as a charity in 1964 we are one step closer to a 'life, unlimited'

The marathon isn't just a race for me, but a race for everyone living with cystic fibrosis, and for those who aren't able to do so.

Every donation means the world to myself and my family, and helps people with CF run towards a future where CF no longer holds people back

Thank you so much for being a part of this. See you at the finish line (hopefully with a finishers medal and a large aperol spritz!!)
