Story
Mona Storey's prolific works will be showcased this weekend at a posthumous exhibition in her memory.
Paul and Kitty Storey flew from New York to Lincolnshire to curate the exhibition for their late mother, Mona, who died last August at 89.
The exhibition will be at the Willoughby Memorial Trust Gallery in Corby Glen on August 9-10, from noon to 5 pm, with proceeds supporting The Travers Foundation, a local young people's arts charity.
This event celebrates Mona’s life and her art, which she only pursued after retiring, producing around 200 paintings.
Mona moved from London to Morpeth as a teen, met her husband Brian there, and later settled in Oakham and Corby Glen. She was passionate about her art and community, involved in local groups and charity work.
Mona's children, Kitty, Philip (Pip), and Paul, have careers in costume design and photography, respectively. Mona was an animal rescuer and a big Robbie Williams fan, known for her energetic personality.
