Our founder and chairman emeritus John Caudwell is taking on over 1,000 miles!

Through Alpine mountain passes. During Europe’s worst-ever heatwave with on-road daily temperatures well over 50C. At an age when most people have long since hung up their cycling shoes.

John is taking on this incredible challenge to prepare for L'Etape du Tour, a full stage of the Tour de France in the mountains of France this July. One of the most demanding amateur cycling events in the world.

And he's doing it for the children and families we support.

The man behind the miles

From a young age, John has believed that true success means giving back to society, this lead him to found Caudwell Children 26 years ago, but John didn't just found the charity, he continues to provide inspiring support by match-funding one third of everything we raise, which covers the charity's operating costs every year so that, when you donate, every single penny reaches the families who need it.

Over the years he has abseiled down the Shard, cycled coast to coast, and thrown himself into challenge after challenge as additional means of raising much-needed funds.
