TECLA Languages' fundraiser for The Hope Foundation UK

Climb the O2 - Greenwich · 13 October 2024
On 13th October, with my 8 year old son, I will take on a challenge for The Hope Foundation (HOPE) and climb the O2 arena in London and raise funds for an education project in Kolkata, India, called the Naboasha (“New Hope”) Education Centre.
By climbing high, and overcoming a slight fear of heights, we, at TECLA Languages hope to give these marginalised street-children the best chance to aim higher in life through the gift of an education.
The Naboasha Education Centre, implemented by The Hope Foundation (HOPE), provides education, nutrition, and counselling to marginalised street-connected children from the ages of 6 to 14 years old. Teachers identify children who are not in school and enrol them in the Naboasha. Classes are held before and after school hours and provide special support to children with learning difficulties, story-telling classes, Teaching Learning Materials and participatory learning games. The children are taught in joyful learning spaces, and, as and when ready, are enrolled in mainstream schools and provided supplementary coaching
The Naboasha provides a child-friendly learning environment to prepare these marginalised children to be enrolled in school and supports them to keep up with their studies, as many of these children are first-generation learners. The children are supported to improve their learning level by the Naboasha teachers, and those with learning gaps are provided with special support.
The project is a life line for these children, as it provides them with the skills and confidence to build successful and rewarding futures for themselves and their communities.
100% of your donation will go towards the project, there are no wages or hidden fees. Any donation, however small, given is greatly appreciated and will help HOPE to educate a marginalised street-child and give them a chance of a brighter future.
