Story
From April 3-10, 2025, I will be participating in an all-female hiking expedition led by HER Planet Earth to the Cordillera region of my home country, the Philippines.
Our expedition aims to raise funds for Conservation International Philippines to support its mission of protecting the country’s diverse ecosystems and empowering indigenous people and local communities.
The funds raised will specifically support Conservation International Philippines' partner community: the indigenous women of the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park in Palawan. These Tagbanua women are actively engaged in reforestation efforts through tree planting, seedling production, and environmental monitoring. I am proud to contribute to a cause that not only protects the environment but also enhances the livelihoods of women.
Our 70km trek will take us to breathtaking landmarks, including the Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Mt. Pulag, one of the tallest peaks in the Philippines. Along the way, we will immerse ourselves in the region's unique culture and connect with the local community.
