Story
In April 2026 I’ll be running London Marathon for Bart’s charity. As some of you may know I suffered a random knife attack, resulting in 2 months in hospital and a long recovery. Without the amazing work of Martin Griffiths and the Barts team I wouldn’t be here.
My family, friends and I are eternally grateful for their work and although there is no price for the cost of life, I’d like to donate as much as possible to allow them to continue saving lives.
Barts Charity plays a key role in advancing trauma care through its support for the Major Trauma Centre at The Royal London Hospital, one of the busiest in Europe. The charity funds innovative research, specialist equipment, and enhanced patient facilities that go beyond what the NHS alone can provide. Its work helps clinicians deliver faster, more effective treatment for people with life-threatening injuries—from major accidents to violent trauma—while also supporting rehabilitation services that focus on patients’ long-term recovery. By investing in both frontline care and pioneering clinical developments, Barts Charity strengthens the trauma unit’s ability to save lives and improve outcomes for some of the most critically injured patients.
Thank you for taking the time read, support and reposting, it’s going to a really great cause.
