Story
Hi, I’ve always wanted to do a personal challenge and raise money for a charity that’s close to my heart. I understand what I’m getting myself into with this challenge (well I think I do) and I know that the target is big. I will be running a minimum of 10km a day whilst juggling everyday life and still pursuing my career as a full time tree surgeon. This is definitely going to push me outside of my comfort zone and could take me a couple of years to hit my target but I’m willing to push myself everyday until the job is done. The reason I’ve chosen this charity is because a couple of years ago I was really struggling with addiction and I couldn’t see a way forward anymore, I decided that I needed to talk about my problems with people close to me and admit to myself and others that I needed help. Since that day I haven’t looked back and I understand first hand how important one phone call can be! Talking to someone about your problems can change everything and this is why I have picked CALM.
We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We’ve got loads of tools and resources to help people find the support they need, including a life-saving helpline for people who can’t see a way forward, have lost someone to suicide, or are worried about their friends or loved ones.
£12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.
