The Cure and Action for Tay-Sachs (CATS) Foundation was created to raise awareness and support families affected by Tay-Sachs and Sandhoff. They are both terminal illnesses in children where those affected by the infantile form usually lose their battle against the disease by the age of 5.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for Frey Frey and the Maclay family (Ally Maclay - HSOG Class of 2001). In August 2023 and aged just 1 year old, their daughter Freya was diagnosed with an extremely rare genetic condition, Tay Sach’s Disease. The condition affects 1 in 360,000 people and Freya’s is the only known case in Hong Kong.

She’s a fighter and is trying to live life to the full like any toddler. Sadly, unlike most toddlers, children with Tay-Sachs disease typically live only a few years.

Currently, there is no cure for Tay Sachs Disease.
