Story

On 11th February 2026, our beloved brother, Mohammed Habibur Rashid, had a heart attack and passed away. He was a healthy young man that loved fitness and sports, so it was completely unexpected.

He had just turned 26, and it had been 2 weeks and 3 days since he came back from his second Umrah before he passed away.

Our parents named him Mohammed Habibur Rashid, meaning the 'praised, beloved one who is rightly guided' in Arabic, and he lived a life befitting of his name.

Habib had a pure, kind and gentle soul. He was one of the most respectful people you will have ever met and he loved helping people. He would always sacrifice himself for others and make everyone's life easier at his expense. He loved and feared Allah swt and was a devout muslim his whole life, all on his own accord. Habib never missed his salah, he encouraged others to the path of Islam and lived a life striving to please Allah swt.

Habib was a pious, respectful, generous, humble, funny and hardworking man. He was the kind of role model we need more of in this world. He loved children and they loved him.

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him." — Sahih Muslim 1631

To honour our brothers Habib's memory, we are fundraising to build a masjid on his behalf in Bangladesh. This masjid will be built in Bangladesh for the Rohingya refugee population who escaped ethnic cleansing and genocide in Myanmar.

It was reported in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 450, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 533, “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.”

Our beloved brother was pious and devout Muslim, and we would like to honour his memory in this world and the next by building him a house in paradise.

Unite 4 Humanity are a 100% Donation Policy Muslim charity. In Bangladesh, they are supporting the Rohingya refugee community who are extremely poor and lack basic necessities. We are working with them to build a masjid for the local community in Chittagong, Cox Bazar to provide them with a safe and comfortable place to pray and remember Allah swt. The project costs £10,500 to build a small masjid (10x 8 metres) with floor tiles, digital clock and sound system, wudu area with 12 seats, 3 toilets, electricity, a deep water well motor system, a mic system for the call to prayer, a veranda and courtyard. The masjid will facilitate 140-150 people at a time to pray. We have decided to raise an additional £11,500 to build a classroom with the mosque to run Hifz classes and give the students a basic education. The classes will accommodate 35-50 students and we will also provide the students with the books, stationery and resources required for their education.

Please help support us to raise the funds to build our only brother his house in Paradise. Please note, this is NOT zakat eligible.

Our sincerest thanks,

Fahima, Naima, Ismah and our parents xx
