Story
I am excited to be fundraising for Waverley Care, by taking on the Kelpies Challenge!
Waverley Care is Scotland’s leading HIV and hepatitis C charity.
We’re close to making new HIV diagnoses a thing of the past. But misinformation and stigma are holding us back. With your help, Scotland can #GetToZero new HIV transmission by 2030.
I have been a regular donor to Waverley Care for many years now having seen the effects of HIV and Hepatitis C when working as a GP in inner city Dundee (I am recently retired now!). Last year I completed an abseil off the Forth Railway Bridge for them and now this challenge has come up - an assault course involving a climb inside one of the Kelpies up to the top- 100 feet up. I am doing it as a challenge along with my son James - one way of bonding!
IMPORTANT UPDATE 300725:
Unfortunately I have to withdraw from this challenge as just had major emergency abdominal surgery. However my daughter Fiona McAra-Hunter has offered to take my place so sponsorship moves over to her from here. I hope to go and watch on the day and am very disappointed not to be able to do it.
