in 2017, Tom Morgan lost his life to suicide. A player of then Wavertree Park, Tom was a bright and happy soul who filled everyone around him with laughter and happiness, but sadly behind Toms smile was grief he masked. In 2020 Morgan Athletic was formed in the memory of our friend and player Tom. Our mission as a club has been to raise the awareness of men’s mental health and the importance of speaking out and not suffering in silence. Sadly earlier this year Ellis Folkard another former player suffered the same fate. As a club this has hurt us deeply and this loss has made us more determined to help raise the awareness and importance of speaking out about your feelings. With the help of James place many men have a safe place to go talk about how they are feeling and learn to cope with ways to move forward. We ask all who can to donate to a good cause because without charities like James place many more young men like Tom and Ellis may not be around to tell their story.
