Edinburgh Marathon 2025 · 25 May 2025 ·

The Macquaker family founded the Jasmine Foundation in memory of our daughter Jasmine. We aim to use this as a platform to assist others in need, to provide a resource for information around adolescent depression. The Jasmine Foundation aims to support the research and awareness of mental health in young people and prevention of suicide. We use creativity as a catalyst for mental wellbeing and hope our support will help young people and families to develop life skills and resilience.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page in aid of Jasmine Foundation.

I’m running my first ever half marathon, in my 60s, for the amazing Jasmine Foundation and would really appreciate if you could donate to the fantastic cause.

The charity was set up by the Macquaker family in memory of Jasmine. They aim to assist people in need, provide a resource for information around adolescent depression, and to help reduce suicide.

Jasmine had an independent playful spirit, she was caring and thoughtful with a wicked sense of humour and quirky view of the world. Creativity was her superpower. For her it was an escape from the world, therefore her healing power or secret tool. Jika was in her class at school.

Training for this has been mentally and physically challenging for me but it’s going to be worth it for such a great charity. It really motivated me hearing the Chief Executive from The Haven talk about the difference the money from Jasmine Foundation has made to so many families.

Wish me luck!
