Story
Our team is proud to be raising money for the MS Society in support of our colleague Danielle.
At just 21 years old, Danielle began to lose the vision in both of her eyes due to optic neuritis. What started as worrying changes to her eyesight led to countless appointments, scans and tests before she finally received a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
Like many people, Danielle knew very little about MS at the time. Faced with a diagnosis of a progressive neurological disease, she feared her life would never be the same again.
Thankfully, thanks to advances in research and modern treatments, Danielle has been able to continue living a normal and active life. While there is currently no cure for MS, medications can help slow the progression of the disease and reduce its impact, giving people like Danielle the opportunity to continue doing the things they love and plan for the future.
MS affects the brain and spinal cord, disrupting the messages sent around the body. Symptoms can vary greatly from person to person and may include fatigue, pain, mobility issues, vision problems and cognitive difficulties.
Although Danielle has been fortunate to benefit from the treatments available today, many people living with MS continue to face significant daily challenges. That’s why ongoing research is so important. Every breakthrough brings us closer to better treatments, improved quality of life and, one day, a cure.
By supporting this fundraiser, you’ll be helping the MS Society continue its vital work, funding life-changing research and providing support to people affected by MS across the UK.
Thank you for helping us support a cause that means so much to Danielle and the millions of people worldwide living with MS!
