24hr Wild Swim Relay: Shepperton 7th June to 8th June

Dawn Thackray is raising money for Level Water

24hr Wild Swim Relay: Shepperton 2025 · 7 June 2025 to 8 June 2025 ·

The challenge is simple. Gather a team of up to 8 swimmers and swim for an hour each, for 24 hours. It really doesn’t matter what your ability is. It’s not a race, no one is being timed or tracked. You swim as much as you want, as fast as you want.

Story

From June 7th to June 8th, a group of teachers - known as the Moulsford Manatees - will be taking part in a 24hr Swimathon at Shepperton Lake in London. Clare Symonds, Dawn Thackray, Grace Lancaster and Graham Sage will be swimming as a relay team from midday on Saturday until midday on Sunday.

The challenge is in the endurance, the team work and camaraderie to support each other for the duration, particularly during the long night! Our spirits will be kept high huddling around our fire pit, drinking hot chocolate, chatting and laughing. Then finally cheering as we see the sun popping its golden smile above the horizon!

We're doing this to raise money for Level Water who provide 1-to-1 swimming lessons for children with disabilities. It’s knowing that, one day, they might be able to take part in this challenge with their friends or family because of your donations and support.

Please give whatever you can to support this amazing cause!
