100 mile walk across the Brecon Beacons · 15 July 2023

Today Kaleidoscope runs projects across Wales and helps upwards of 10,000 people a year to achieve their goals and live better in their communities. Our teams are based throughout Wales, as well as our residential treatment centre in the Wirral, but our story began in Kingston upon Thames. https://kaleidoscope68.org/

Story

When I first started the foreverinthehills.com website and Instagram account back in march I had no idea how it would turn out. Although the website was to organise walks its main goal was to assist persons who experienced mental health issues.  And after just two walks, and 3 months in i cannot express of how well its gone. I have connected with some incredible people both though various social media platforms and on the website.

Without going into too much detail right now, my mental health deteriorated, due to losing two of my best friends in probably the worst possible scenario. I could not save them! I developed a drug and alcohol addiction. I am a recovering addict, but getting on the road to recovery required me to attend rehab and group therapy sessions.

Unfortunately, my group disbanded because of a lack of funds. Although I never saw them again, I will always be grateful for how they assisted me and only wish that they are doing well wherever they are right now.

Today i would like to give back, but I also need your help if possible.

I'll be walking approx 100 miles across The Brecon Beacons in July to raise money for a charity that helps addicts.

Despite the fact that there are numerous charities out there, my chosen charity is Kaleidoscope. a group that helps those who battle with addictions. I am aware of the difficulties that some of us may face and what is in store for those of us who do suffer, but my message to you today is that you are not and never will be alone, never give up.

Any contributions are very appreciated because they will help maintain the group and online sessions in which I once participated. I will always be appreciative of these sessions and alI i can hope for is that they will benefit someone else the way they once helped me.

All contributions goes straight to the Chairty.

Thank you for taking the time out to read this. And thank you to everyone who has supported the website since launch and continues to do so.

A video has also been attached with a message (if you can spare a further 3 minutes please watch this also)

Thank you !
