Cameroon Catalyst is a student driven international development charity promoting sustainable development in rural Cameroon. We bring together students and specialists to deliver essential infrastructure projects in some of the least developed communities in the country.

Story

Cameroon Catalyst is a small charity, primarily run by students, that works in a neglected region in Eastern Cameroon, assessing particular villages for the most needed projects and revisiting each year to maintain previous developments. Our upcoming project looks to construct a borehole well for a more consistent, deeper water supply when it is most needed, protecting women and children who have to trek to a nearby spring for sources that are often contaminated, to supply a growing number of people due to the refugee movement in from neighbouring countries.

On April 13th I'll be running the height of Mount Cameroon (4040m, 13,250ft) as repeat ascents of local landmark Kelston Roundhill, totalling around 90-100km and starting/ending each lap at Bath Soft Cheese cafe, Kelston. Any donations - no matter how small - would go a long way, and as it's an unofficial event, anyone is more than welcome to support in person, grab a coffee and perhaps complete a lap or two.

All profits raised will go directly to the water and sanitation projects of 2024 and beyond.
