Snowdon at Night · 23 June 2024 ·

Adventure with Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation through the night as we scale Wales highest Peak under the moon and stars.

Story

On the 22nd June I will be climbing up Mount Snowdon overnight, until sunrise on the 23rd June in memory of my beautiful Mum. This will be to raise money for Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

As many of you know in 2012 my Mum died of lung cancer just 6 days after being diagnosed. What started off as a pain in her side just 3 weeks before she died, transpired to be the secondary cancer that had spread. We never expected to be told we would lose her in less than a week of being admitted to hospital, from such a silent killer.. lung cancer.

Lung cancer is a taboo subject that I don’t feel is spoken about enough. People often assume you have to be a smoker to get lung cancer, but the sad reality is over 36,000 people are dying from this a year - smoker or not. This is more than breast, prostate and pancreatic cancer combined - as well as more women than ovarian and breast cancer combined.

Your donation could not only help raise awareness and understanding, it would also contribute towards faster and more effective screening, diagnosis and treatment.

My Mum was loved by so many. She lit up any room she walked into with her beauty, both inside and out. She was my best friend, and the most important woman in my life - and my guardian angel, who I know will be cheering this on in the process every step of the way.

Any donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated. It will make a difference to so many lives, and help put a stop to someone else watching their loved one have their life cut so short by such a cruel disease.

Thank you 🩷
