Story
Behçet’s has been described as "having MS,
Crohn’s, lupus and arthritis all at once”. It's a debilitating, rare condition affecting any organ in the body, with no known cause or cure and no test, and is only treatable with off-label drugs, which affect everyone differently.
The need to rule out other conditions first leads to a frustrating, lonely diagnostic odyssey.
Behçet’s UK cares for all affected by this rare, complex and lifelong condition.
A systemic approach researching the cause, effects,
treatment and management of Behçet’s is now needed to enhance quality of life, by establishing a patient registry, conducting a natural history study of Behçet’s patients in the UK, agreeing the 10 most important research questions, with patient input via the James Lind Alliance and comprehensive genomic research.
This all costs, so Behçet’s UK needs your help!
