Story

Mrs Reed, Mrs Axe, Mrs Gurnsey and Mr Gurnsey, Mrs Johnson, Mrs Thomas, Miss Morris, and Julie Seeley are running / walking / swimming / cycling 100 miles EACH this February raising money for Rare Disease Shwachman Diamond Syndrome UK charity (SDSUK)

February 29th is Rare disease day, and our community will be showing their colours in our celebrations!

We’ve set a very high fundraising target, so let’s see what we can achieve.

Shwachman Diamond Syndrome is an ultra rare genetically inherited bone marrow failure. As lots of you in the community will know, Betsy, Mrs Reed’s daughter (and also a pupil at a Chandag!) was diagnosed last year after battling with her health since birth. As a family, we receive vital information and well-being support through SDSUK and would like to raise funds to help this small, but absolutely essential charity and give something back, with your help!

Donations are appreciated however small, each penny makes a huge difference in the lives of those affected by a rare disease, condition or syndrome.
