Story
In a seemingly remarkable turn of events, I will be running the 2025 London Marathon for the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD).
Some call it admirable, others call it stupid. Anyone who knows me will acknowledge that I’m not a natural runner, especially for long distances. Completing the 2014 Robin Hood half-marathon and coming 17th in Year 9 house cross-country are easily the highlights of my “endurance career”.
As someone who is built more for short, sharp, powerful movements, this will truly be outside my comfort zone. However, Phil and Coral Brown didn’t raise a quitter.
It’s a real privilege to be running for CAFOD. As a teacher in a Catholic school, I have been parts of fundraisers for the charity and have seen so many of the truly wonderful things they do abroad.
CAFOD is an international development charity helping people affected by poverty, climate, conflict and injustice around the world.
They work with dedicated local experts within these communities to make a real, lasting difference. If you'd like to find out more about CAFOD's work, visit their website: https://cafod.org.uk/
