Story
In loving memory of my beloved partner Nicola, who bravely fought cancer but passed away far too soon. On what would have been her 57th birthday - 26th June 2026 - I took on an extreme personal challenge at my local gym, Flacks Fit 24 in Bingley, UK: attempting to lift, press, and pull a total of 570 tonnes (that's 570,000 kg!) in a single session. Every rep, every lift will be dedicated to her incredible spirit, positivity, and the love we shared. I managed 610 tonnes in the end!
This is for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope, UK - the place that provides specialist palliative care, pain relief, emotional support, day services, complementary therapies, counselling, and vital bereavement help to families across Airedale, Wharfedale, Craven, and north Bradford. No one should face the end of life or grief alone, and Manorlands ensures compassionate, expert support is there when it matters most.
Donations fund this free care that changes lives - just as we wish it could have for more moments with Nicola.
Your support means the world. I completed the challenge in Nicola’s memory, but the fundraising continues: my Mum has now been diagnosed with terminal cancer and the wonderful Sue Ryder Manorlands team are looking after her so well during this time of real need. Their kindness and expertise are helping through another incredibly difficult chapter.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
James
