Story
Children with Cancer's vision is a world where every child and young person survives cancer.
For 35 years, Children with Cancer UK has funded much needed research into the causes of childhood cancers, and the development of better, kinder treatments as well as funding initiatives that support children and their families through cancer treatment and beyond.
Their work has contributed significantly to a marked increase in childhood cancer survival rates and improved quality of life for patients.
A very worthy cause.
Having become very relaxed about running 70 miles in 1 day, I thought I would step it up for 2025 and run 100 miles instead.
The event is the Rat-Race Castle to Castle challenge
100 MILES (161 KM) ON FOOT with +4853FT ELEVATION
Running up the beautiful Northumberland coast, from Bamburgh Castle to Edinburgh Castle - The event gives 48 hours to complete the challenge - but I fancy trying to complete it in 24 Hours instead. Although given recent injuries - 30 hours is probably more realistic, but an old man can dream.
over 5000 people applied for 700 spaces in this event and I was one of the 'lucky' ones :-)

As a 'warm up' event, Jan 11th I will be taking part in the https://winterwipeout.run/ A half(ish) marathon event over the cheviots with temperatures down to -5 plus windchill and a river crossing or 3 at the end of the race.
