Muddy Miles for Megs 2025

Muddy Miles for Megs
Megan was diagnosed with Bipolar back in 2020 after a serious “out of the blue” manic episode left her hospitalised. Sadly Megan spent the following two years trying to navigate the hurdles that come when living with this cruel and misunderstood illness. She was unfortunately hospitalised a number of times between 2020 and 2022 after a pattern of manic highs and depressive lows took over her day to day life.
On the 12th December 2022 our lives changed forever… Megan was just 26 years old when she took her own life.
As a family (along side Megan’s closest friends), we’ve spent the last two years trying to raise funds and awareness for Bipolar UK, who are the only dedicated national charity supporting those affected by bipolar. They give a huge amount of support to people like Megs, who unfortunately need more help than local mental health services can usually provide. 2025 will be no different for us… We already have a number of challenges arranged which you can read about below.
Please help us raise funds and awareness for this life changing charity!!

Bipolar is a severe, lifelong mental health condition characterised by highs and lows. At their most extreme, the highs can lead to delusional thinking and psychosis, and the lows to suicidal thoughts.
Tragically, someone living with bipolar is 20 times more likely to take their own life than someone without the condition, with at least 1/20 of all people who take their own life in the UK having a diagnosis of bipolar, Which is why the work of Bipolar UK is so important.
Bipolar UK is the only dedicated national charity supporting those affected by bipolar, and they currently reach 389,000 people annually in the UK. They offer peer support to anyone affected by bipolar through in-person and online group meetings, call-back and email support, and a moderated eCommunity.
