An opportunity to build 2 water wells in Sinchu Sambuldou village, The Gambia 

Target to raise £5k (zakat eligible project)

Al-Hamdu Lillah I and 4 more close friends visited the Gambia few weeks ago (7th March to 14th March 2023),

AlHamdu Lillahe Robbil Aalameen we were very blessed to witness so many interesting and amazing opportunities to help the poor and destitute of our Ummah.. The most easiest and quick fix out of them all is the water well (Boreholes)

The village I would like to draw your attention to has over 600 people including the elderlies, men, women and the children. Even in their most difficult times they shared their uncompromising Love of Allah and His Rasool (saw) 

The old system of “water well” is an “open water well” where animals and birds fall and die and you can imagine what happens to the water and algae builds around the walls etc..

I am proposing to build the latest and more hygienic system better known as “Borehole” it is really an amazing system Masha Allah. . 

Pls help me raise £5k this Ramadan to build 2 BoreHoles. The normal cost for is £1500-£1800 near the city but because this project is 300k into the county where the water level is around 60-70 feet below ground hence cost is more! plus transportation of equipment and labour which roughly costs around £2300-£2500 (any unused money with be invested back into the development of the village.

I have spoken to scholars explaining the project and they have approved zakat money can be given (100% families are poor) Zakat eligible families 

- Water - will be to feed their cows, sheep, goat, donkeys and chickens etc..

- Water - will be used for planting fruit trees ie: bananas, oranges mangoes etc and

- Water - will be used to grow a variety of vegetables
